दिल और चिल · Sunlight to Starlight
A late-night record for two: forgotten 2010s Bollywood, Indian indie, Punjabi heat, Coke Studio and the R&B that plays after midnight.
Hazy and golden out there. Start with the windows down.
This disc follows the sky. It opens in hazy late sun with acoustic voices you already trust, drifts through the Bollywood songs that lived on your phone in 2012 and quietly fell off the radio, and reaches golden hour with the indie bands somebody always asks about. Then the rain comes in: monsoon songs, chai, and the slow conversations.
Side B is night. Punjabi and a full-volume singalong, then the moon comes up over R&B and Lahore ghazals. It ends under the stars with Sufi prayers and a reprise of a song from the first chapter, so the night closes where it began.
Hindi carries the disc. English threads through it, Punjabi takes over the middle of Side B, and Urdu arrives when the poetry needs it.
